I need help,after reinstalling windows XP pro and after formatting the disk i get a message telling me the partition cannot be formated tried the other partition and the same happens,then when i boot up again all i get is a black screen asking me to insert the cd when i run cd i go through the same process every time.Had to reistall win to change partition to install sp2.One partition was running ok no probs just not enough space to load software.

OK, you're confusing me...
you formatted your Hard Drive. But I thought you get a message telling you the partition cannot be formatted. how could you of formatted it if it said you couldn't? Post some specs like how many HD you have and how big they are. also make sure the hard drive is connected to the master IDE connector not the slave and that the jumper is set for master.
