Default Computer crashes 1-2 weeks after restore.

My first post. Happy New Year to All!

Problem: I restored my hard drive with Norton Ghost 10.0 to a recovery point created in February 2006 because I was experiencing a very slow system.

Everything is fine for about a week or two. Then my computer attemps a restart (on it's own) but can't load windows. I get the Windows XP screen with the loading bar in motion but never make it to the welcome screen. It is as if there is a time bomb on my system. Additionally, Norton Ghost was registered on it's first use and I see no way to register it again after a recovery.

Running XP professional SP2.

Perhaps someone else has experienced this or knows a fix?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
