Default XFX 7600 GS or XFX 6800XT?

I won both of the video cards on ebay. The 7600 has more GDDR2 but the 6800 has GDDR3.

I also noticed the the 6800 has a higher memory clock.

but the 6800 only supports openGL 1.5 while the 7600 supports 2.0

So which one?

when Im looking at that, i'd say the 7600GS hands down.. but there it say's the 7600GS has 400MHz mem clock, and the 6800XT only 350

Actually, it looks like the 6800XT beats the 7600GS every time in this guide:

I know it doesn't have the exact card, but it close...

7600GS is much better than 6800XT, and it can outperform 6800vanilla

Thats not true, the 6800xt support openGL 2.0, even if it says openGL 1.5

You are comparing 6800ultra to 7600GS, of course the 6800ultra will beat 7600GS.

But no one here is talking about 6800ultra, we are talking about 6800XT !!

so i should go with the 7600, it doesnt even have active cooling just a heatsink. Will that become to warm?

The stock heatsink is designed to sufficiently cool the card. It will probably become warm, but not too hot.
