i can think of a lot of better vehicles he could have bought for $30k than a truck he's just going to look at.

Sony STR-G1ES

yes its an Onkyo box buts its a Sony receiver

fit in the original Onkyo packaging and survived the flight from chicago to atlanta

remote. yep one button.

look at the inputs on the back. they've got one specified for a DAT drive. and another for laserdisc. i'd put it in the mid nineties.
