well earlier i was looking for a intel core duo and they were like $400
this cpu looks even better than the duos am i wrong?

1. This is a single core processor, not a dual core.
2. It is a socket 939, not AM2.

Having said that, it is a great deal, if you have a Socket 939 motherboard. However, it isn't better than a Core 2 Duo E6300, which is priced at ~$190.

well i have this motherboard

and i was planning on getting a intel duo for it but now im thinking of just buying an amd mobo with that cpu. what do you think?

If I were you I would go for the AMD at this price. And then upgrade later this year.

you shoulnt expect anything better than that for the price, imo thats a 150$ cpu, very nice for decent gaming, maybe not extreme but still powerful.

So you already have that motherboard? It would be smart to get an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 for that. Even though you may be spending slightly more for the Core 2 Duo processor then the AMD motherboard and the AMD processor, it is well worth the slight bit extra. The E6300 will cream the 4000+.

ahh thank you. yes im going to be playing oblivion. can u maybe link me to the cpu your talking about?
i have an awesome power supply, an atx case, that mobo, and thats it.
i would like to keep this under $500. i know i need a video card and processor and ram.
