Default New cpu or overclock this 1

Hi
Im looking into getting the cpu overclocked if possible or seeing if it better to buy a bigger 1.
The cpu thats in at moment is a socket a 462 athlon xp 2800+ 2.25ghz, motherboard is a asrock k7s8xe+ http://www.asrock.com/product/K7S8XE%2b.htm

What would be possible to clock on this cpu or get a different cpu please.

Why do you need a better CPU? I have a socket A Anthlon XP 2400+, that runs at 2.0GHZ... This runs all games fine, I don't see why it'd need to be faster... Especially since yours is running at 2.25GHZ...

I think it'd be a waste of money or a you may be trying to 'fix' something that isn't broken...

What you dont know is that your CPU is bottlenecking your system. I had a P4 2.2 and an x850XT PE, I couldnt believe how bottlenecked it was, once I upgraded my CPU to a Sempron there was a huge increase in performance.

Well it's not as much of a bottleneck as my P4 2.2 was, but it still is bottlenecking the video card. A good way to find out, is to play a game on lowish settings, look at the framerate, and then play it with the settings on high-highest. If the FPS dont change too much, you will know that the CPU is the bottleneck.

Oh right, I'll give that a try... I don't think I'll be getting one too soon though, I don't think it's too much of a burden on me...
