compaq presario v6000 hanging in vista

Hi, i really hope someone can help me. I intsalled vista on my compaq presario v6000 notebook, it runs great, but When im running on battery it runs for a couple of minutes and then locks up, no activity, nothin, i have 2 hold down the power key to shut down, also wen i close the lid, and open it back up, the screen stays blank, unless i sleep the system and wake it. Its really frustating, any help, anyone?

vista's bugs, ur computer cant run it, not even real vista...

I was thinking it was something to do with the AMD X2 drivers or ACPI drivers or even chipset? Well, thats really unfortunate, cos it really makes a big difference to me from xp, all d extensive search features and the fun new UI, well, i might just hold on till i get my vista express upgrade in a couple of weeks.
