X800GTO shows image half the time

I recently built a pc with a X800GTO for my gpu
I have-
530W hiper PSU
dfi nf-4 mobo
3500+ Athlon 64
512 mb ram

but when I turn it on, half the time it will show the image, but the other half of the time, no image will appear on the monitor

I tested it with a friends 6200, and it worked every time

what could be the problem?

It's actually mine I sold to him. We're trying to work this thing out.

My question, is why it would start at all if it was DOA? I did flash the BIOS over a year ago, but it worked fine in my computer, and great in my friend's computer, and when I shipped it to him, it had been working. I shipped it in a box with an adequate amount of padding.

Sometimes I have freak things happen with my computer as well. Try plugging your computer into the wall, then unplug it and hit the power button on your computer. Then plug it back in and see if it works. It sometimes fixes a lot of my problems, why, i don't know, but just try it and see.
