Unhappy Laptop wont start up

hi all
I have a Toshiba laptop with Window XP home edition and it wont start up. I tried all the available options such as:
+ start up in safe mode
+ start up in safe mode with networking
+ start up normally
+ start up with Last known working configurations..
Doesnt matter wat option i chose, it always gave me the error message:
"Unamountable_Boot_Volume"

Any guru out there please help...

Reading through a couple articles, it sounds like it could be the connection of the hdd with the laptop. Other than that, there were many other possible causes too. Not knowing exactly what it could be, here is an article from Microsoft that you can look into.

If you insert the Xp CD and it is still not reading it, then I don't think it got even near the HD.
