yes but you are missing my point, if your distro is one that uses the /etc/sudoers directory to authenticate root, all one needs is admin privlidges, not root privlidges. Say for example my user name is tlarkin and my password is pword. I could sudo all day long and use my password via /etc/sudoers. Where as in other distros the sudo command would require the root password, which is set to something different than a user's password and the root user is completely different. Some commands will not run with sudo, you must have a session going as root user to run them.

It is more secure.

Yes i have Ubuntu dual booted with Xp.

only on occasion i use linux though...I do prefer windows because of its simplicity.

And i play alot of games also.

Only OS since November 2005 and my other half has had it as her only OS since about June 2006.

I've been in linux starting 2006.ive been thru mainly all distro exept gentoo and slackware !!!..mainly using suse 10.1 (now downloading 10.2)
