wmp 11 help

I use WMP 11 to manage my movies. Every once in a while, I get a movie that I can not skip any parts of it. If I click anywhere in the seek bar it will start over from the beginning. Also, unless I put the mouse over the seek bar, the slider does not show up. Is there a way to fix this?

I would like to keep wmp 11. The movies play fine on real player, just not on wmp 11.
