The QX6700 is the best out right now, but it doesnt work in all motherboards.

What were you planning on using with it?

The best CPU on the market is the not as cheap but cheaper than some Intel Core 2 Duo E6600, but some say that if you dont have a budget

Intel Quad Core is the best. ^^^ QX6700

Someone told me somewhere that in some cases the quad cores were acully slower then dual cpu's. Is this true?

I think it was because of the Cache and some other factors involved in a CPU other than the Core Clock. *Where is JET when you need him? *

It is mainly because of clock speed. The highest quad core is the QX6700, while the dual core models go up to the X6800.

What will you be doing with the computer? And what is your motherboard?
