I bought a pair of 512mb sticks of Corsair XMS DDR400 ram for my rig a while back, i attempted to OC about a month after i got the ram with no luck. The ram would not be stable over 220mhz and even at stock speeds the CAS had to be at 3 or it wouldnt boot. This ram has been complete sh!t and i dont recommend anyone to buy it. I do however have a single stick of PNY Verto Gamer memory rated at DDR500 that OCs great, that ram got my cpu up to 280mhz. I cant even run a divider with this XMS crap cuz even if i run it at 133mhz it still wont boot if my cpu is OCed.
DO NOT BUY CORSAIR RAM! If anyone knows of some great OCing DDR400 ram i would like to get a new 1gb dual channel kit. I was looking at maybe Patriot, does anyone know if they are anygood? I want ram that would be stable at 280mhz (DDR560 at least). |
