Do you use Virtual PC software? and which?
What operating systems do you run in these virtual systems? and what do you do/use them for? Does the virtual harddrive actually take up space from your hard drive? |

I use Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 and I love it, not a huge difference from 2004, but in general it's a great free program. I use mine to run Windows98 for kicks (reminds me of the old days

you need lots of ram, virtual machines will take up certain amount of ram. I have messed with various vmware and used xen but not really extensively. Virtualization eats up tons of ram, and emulation eats up processor. However, really no one emulates anymore its almost all virtual.

A 15gig virtual hard drive will not tack up 15gig of hard drive space on your "real hard drive" until you have saved 15gig of information on it.
