so you're recommending a phone thats not even out yet nor been tested or reviewed fully by peers?

in answer to the original question, kinda depends on your country. Currently europe seems to be a bit ahead of the U.S. in terms of the various phones

Just like computers, there is no official "best". Everyone uses phone for different purposes.

The iPhone would suck for me, especially the price tag. Any phone with a camera or bluetooth would suck for me.

But maybe you have a bluetooth headset, or maybe you want a camera? See how it can be different?

Where I live, Cingular has the BEST coverage. But in other parts of the country, Cingular sucks. It depends on who you are, what you like, where you live, etc. There is no overall, "best".

so far as i understand it in GSM phones it does, although not to the extent it used to. Its getting much closer to both sectors being in line.

In terms of PDA/smart phones i think we are about on an even keel at the moment

just out of curiosity is the sony ericsson K800 or W950 available in the U.S. yet?

well its a phone. its not available but it is a phone. right?
well i think iphone is the best, wait until july and get one. iphone is going to have success like iPod.
all the phones are good enough if you just want to call and sms.

but we have no way of knowing that the Iphone is best currently, all we have are the press releases and launch to go by, for all we know its bugged to high hell.

But its beside the point really, guessing the poster is looking for whats available now
