Question Would you enter a Music Competition?

an ****Official Music Competition****?

Rambo and I would like to know if anybody would enter a competition to show us your musical talent or creativity (you don't even have to of played an instrument before)... It's just like the ****Official Photoshop Competition**** but with music

For example:

Just like the Photoshop competition you are given a theme and you have to edit to the picture to fit in with that theme...

In this you would also be given a theme, E.g. Action Scene in a film...

And you would have to create a piece of music and record it to fit with that theme... You can use any instrument you want guitar, drums, flute, keyboard or vocals... It's up to you!

What do you think?

Interesting idea, I hope you wouldn't be looking for a one week turnaround the same as the photoshop one, that would take some doing. Perhaps one month. It would be hard to come up with a theme that would suit all instruments, instrumentation is often as important as notation in setting a mood. I imagine you could count on one or two hands the number of potentially interested parties, but I would be one.

Perhaps it would have been better the poll asking "Would you participate in the competition" - its far easier to cast a vote than to create an entry.

Since this has little to do with computers, except for the recording, I'm going to move this to Off Topic. It would be the decision of that section's mods if it were to go ahead.

Nice one magicman! I'm sure you could get that violin/cello (or it was some stringed instrument you played - I remember listening to some of your stuff) out!

Please note: this competition is for n00b's to pro's. It's all just a bit of fun.

You don't need to be able to, You could give it a go and enter... It'd be good, You never know, You may end up carrying on to play that instrument because you like it

Audacity would work for that.

I might be interested. It would have to be over a while, like, say, at least 2 weeks (more like a month or more) per competition.
