cannot delete folder?

I was downloading something java a while back and decided I did not want it so I canceled the download in the process, but now cannot delete it?

I already checked windows task manager and I do not see it running there, and i have tried everything i can think of, i dunno what to do now, and im tired of looking at this icon on my desktop all the time!

Type msconfig.exe in the run command box. Then go to the services tab and turn off everything that is not Microsoft. Then go to start up and uncheck everything that isn't essential for your computer (i.e background programs). If that doesn't work try doing it in safe mode.

2 ways;

1. download unlocker form:http://www.majorgeeks.com/Unlocker_d4660.html and install then right lick on the file and chose unlocker

2. Just restart the computer and see if you can delete it the normal way.

There's one more method i've discovered on my own:

Click folder/icon - Cut it (either with RMB/Cut or CTRL+X) and Paste it somewhere else (on the same drive or another), and then try to delete it. Works in 29/30 cases.

it's an illegal pathname, that's why

it was probably created in unix

see if you can rename it, and then delete it

alt control delete, delete explorere process, make a new exporer process.

yeah i tired cut and paste and that never worked, it also would not let me rename it. So my last resort was to come to you guys and it seems that Emperor_nero advice worked out.. Thanks
