IE7 Temporary Files And History Settings

Does anyone know the differeneces for the following settings:

Check for newer versions of stored pages:

Every time I visit the webpage
Every time I start Internet Explorer
Automatically
Never

Every time I visit the webpage is going to check the website for a newer version.
Every time I start Internet Explorer - Is this going to go through all temp files and look for a newer version of the webpage?
Automatically - How does this one work?
Never - Never checks for a newer version of stored page.
