What I want to do is mount each piece of my computer on the wall by screwing them in place. I can envision the motherboard with ram, cpu and cards at one place, power supply nearby as well as the hd's and dvd burner. I'm not exactly a computer guru, I know quite a bit about computers but i'm still unsure as to whether or not this could be harmful in anyway (static charge?) I'm not too worried about dust buildup, I know i'd take good care of it
But does anyone have any input? Is this a good idea or am I risking too much? |

aesthetically, that would be an awesome computer. On the other hand, seems like alot of work. You will need to make custom brackets to hold the motherboard, power supply, cd/dvd and hard drives to the wall. Plus, think of your expansion cards, they would be very flimsy. good luck and post your pictures. Go to Goodwill and buy the cheapest parts ever to see if it will work.

My only concern would be if anything accidentally bumped into the wall/computer..... I would consider putting some sort of clear protective covering over it.....

thanks for all the input! I'm thinking about putting it up pretty high so it can't be bumped, except for the disk drives of course. Does anyone know if extension cables are sold for the internal wires so the pieces can be a little farther apart?

Someone else on this forum had/has a computer built on to their desk, then they went and spilt tea all over the motherboard!
I guess though if yours is high up then this shouldn't be a problem.

Another idea would be to build the computer onto a nice varnished peace of wood, or the like, and then proceed to hang that onto the wall. That way if you need move it for any reason you would still have some portability.
Oh and when your all done and finished please post some pics ![]() |

put it under a piece of glass on ur desk and have fans hold the glass sheet up
and have the processor heatsink stick up through a hole in the glass
