Default Dual Boot

Can I install Ubuntu onto my slave drive and have a dual boot that way?

I am downloading Ubuntu now, what would be a good way for me to proceed installing it onto my slave drive. I do not have a windows XP CD, so I can not afford to mess anything up.

Could I just follow the instructions in this video, although it may be a bit different since I will be installing onto a slave rather than my main drive?

Yes, follow that very nice video. Since you already have XP installed, just start at the part where the ubuntu disc is inserted. It should prompt you to install on the free space of the 2nd drive, BE SURE about that, and partition as recommended in the video.

Follow the rest of the video and you should be on your way.

The second video on the list after that is even better, it showed me how to do it with windows already instlaled. Try that one.

Have you tried going into the BIOS and disabling the on-board video?
