Default What is a good open source software to use for webserver

Hi Guys
I just want to know what is the best open source software OS to use on a home build webserver? and what else software would I need to sercue my webserver? because I am planning to build a webserver for my small business that does selling automotive parts online. So I need to know your guys ideas about my webserver. Thanks Tim

Apache can run on windows, a easy installer is available here (xampp) or you can use a linux distro such as Red Hat, Suse or Ubuntu.
Windows would be easiest to run, but Linux would be more secure.

hire a web developer to make you a secure shopping cart with encrypted data to ensure safety of your clients credit cards.

Redhat is meant to be one of the recommended linux distro's for a web server. Its what my old website host used.
