I think it's more of the x1600 Pro can barely play newer games on higher settings while the x1300 can barely play newer games.... (probably on med/low settings)

The only difference between X1600pro and X1300pro is that X1600pro can do 3 shader processor for each pipeline, so this means it can do more operation/sec.
but Texture fillrate, pixel fillrate and memory bandwidth are all equal. So, I think you will not see a big difference in terms of performance if you upgrade to X1600. Get at least 7600GT if you want to see a big difference. |

Again, I dont recommend buying the x1600PRO, they are very poor cards. The 7600GS would perform much better, in roughly the same price range.

not really they are about 450 now, but thats what you end up paying for a DX10 card... and i hear that the 8600 will be outperformed by a 1950xtx extreme, but thats pretty pricey
