Default Yamaha DSP-A1000 problem!

Well, i have this old HUGE ass reciever from 1991 and since its about the size of my computer im thinkin its pry packin some good power. I want to use it to build my home theater system (in the process of buying speakers and enclosures made up of car audio subwoofers and component speakers), but anyway. The reason my step-dad doesnt use it is he said he doesnt turn on anymore. Well, i popped the hood on this giant and first blew out the huge chunks of dust in it. Then i looked around to see if anything had been fried. Everything looked ok, even swapped out the fuse on it. My guess is that it was shorted at one time and its protection system isnt allowing it to turn on. But with my previous reciever, the protection system came on after it was turned on and flashed protect, so im guessin this one should do the same.

Does anyone know anything about this reciever? Iv looked it up on the net and it seems it had numours other problems, but i couldnt find nothin on this one.

If i cant get it fixed, ill pry just use a component system amp.
