I have a Fujifilm S 3500 which doesn't need any software, it's just as easy as plugging it in to (almost any computer) USB, opening up the removable drive and copying the pics.
Two days ago I picked up my computer with a new hardrive and graphics card, and now have a newer version of windows ....XP pro 2002....and now my cam wont work! I get this message "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and windows does not recognize it." And there was nothing wrong with this cam being "recognized" before i took the PC into the shop to be repaired....could it have something to do with the newer version of windows? I had XP Pro before......I think 2000? If so....how can I get my cam to work?...it's useless right now.

One option might be getting one of those USB media card readers. I get them with all my systems and you don't have to mess with cords. You should be able to find one on the cheap online.
