Default Video Converting Problem??????

Hey all, quick question.

I have an iPod video, and I'm trying to convert videos on my cpu to ipod format. Only problem is, whenever I try, the end product has audio, but no video. The screen looks as if it's scrambled, kind of like a television station without reception. I have tried tons of different converter programs, and all have the same result. I have also tried to use the converter in iTunes, but the video comes out, but no audio this time. Anyone have an idea? This is really bugging me!

Thanks!
