quick ram question

Hi, i have a HP computer, and it has 2 slots for RAM, one is filled with a 512mb stick of ram that came with the pc, can i buy any other type of same ram(pc2700) and will it work, or does it have to be same latency, etc? thanks.

Anything that your motherboard supports will work fine, regardless of what the other stick(s) are.
