Post Install Portable drive

I am trying to install a portable drive for my laptop as running out of disk space.

I have bought a Toshiba 80Gb (MK8032GAX) 2.5" drive and need to format etc, which i've never done this before. There is no jumpers so i assume they are not required..Some help is required..

When i goto Disk Management the drive is recognised and there is one partition. This partition is showing 20MB FAT.I found else where that you should click on the partition and delete the partition which i assume will lead to an 80Gb partition being made when a new partition option is selected. But when i click on the partition the "Delete Partition " option is not highlighted in bold so its not available..

How do i format this drive to 80Gb ? At the moment its only showing 20Mb Fat.My other drives show NTFS format .

Your help is much appreciated.
