Are you using onboard video or an AGP or PCI-E type expansion card there? If you are running an older model the changes are likely that the video is not Vista ready and lacks support for the new version of Windows. You may have also downloaded the wrong version of drivers seeing this.

So you are now able to change resolutions with a different update. Matching drivers up will be a little touchy at the present moment just like XP was back when where Dell and others are a little slow in the support dept.! So expect some delays at times.
