Unhappy Help with installing Ubuntu

I used the Columbia mirror for it and it gave me this huge .iso file. Is that what I copy onto the disc? This wasn't in the instructions

Yeah. Use the "Burn Image" tool on your CD burning software, and select the .iso file.

I'm using Sonic RecordNow...I'm saving it to my compy first and then I'll click and drag the file onto the thing and click "Burn". Isn't that the same thing?

I figure so far that you're not supposed to actually click on that link...it froze my compy the first time D:

I think you just have to save the target of the link.

You have to specifically use the "Burn Image" tool. Drag and drop is just making a data CD.

Ah, yes. So I just click that and select the .iso file, right? I want to make sure I'm doing this right.

look, you dont litterally copy the image FILE to the disk... See put it this way. A cd image, like the one you downloaded is like a virtual cd. This virtual cd has to be converted into a real cd which your cd burner does. When you copy this to your disk on sonic record now you use the "burn image to disk" funtion, not data disk.
