Angry Display settings wont go above 640x400 pixels

I just installed Windows XP Professional and then downloaded Service Pack 2 and when I rebooted the display settings were extremely messed up. It's currently set at 640x400 pixels and I can't change it. The Monitor settings and upgrade panel is grayed out. I think I need to un-install my video driver and get the most recent one from the manufacturer. I have a HP Pavillion 530c, 2.0 Ghz AMD chip, 256 DDR2 RAM, 40 (formerly 160) Gig HD. I'd appretiate any input before I go putting holes in my newly installed OS.

Default

Find what video card you have and get the drivers. Typically they can be located on HP's website.
