Exclamation Pentium D Vs Amd Athlon Vs Intel Dual Core

Which is the better computer available from this ebayer:

1. Pentium D Dual Core 5.2ghz

2. Intel Dual Core D 5.2ghz

3. Amd Athlon 64 X2 4200

Can AMD's be compared to Intels via the Ghz?

Thanks,
Alex

Yeh I found out about all that. They double it because it's dual core.

But despite the fact he has stretched the truth, are these computers still not worth it for the price. (I won the bidding on http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...1365&rd=1&rd=1)

Is that still not worth it?

Also is the intel D the same as the pentium D, i think he just used dif words.

And if you had to make a choice of those pc's (following on from question 1) which is best, not just manufacturer but actual power.

This is the Intel on Dabs for £58 http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx...avigationKey=0

This is the AMD on Dabs for £106 http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx...0&v=2#infoarea

I dont know whether that is the same AMD processor actually as:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 AM2 2.2GHz (Dabs)
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 `DualCore` 4200+2MB SKT-939 (ebay)

The one on Dabs has an AM2 socket, could that be the price difference?

I think the guy on Ebay knows squatt about computers!

The Dual Core Athlons are AM2 Sockets...

If you are considering getting an Intel chip, I'd recomend the Core 2 Duos... They're great for gaming and multi tasking and they perform better than the AMD dual cores...

Besides the fact that they dont know how to determine the actual speed, the Core 2 Duo would be better then the Athlon 62 X2.
