Default Problems with a computer freezing

This one computer I have seems to be freezing at random points while I work on it. Sometimes it will freeze at the Windows loading page, other times it will let me log in but freeze once I start working. It just seems completely random, but it's happening very often now. Any thoughts as to what might be the problem?

My first suspicion would be dust. check inside the case to see if the heatsinks are dirty and clogged up, because if the heatsinks are clogged up, the pc's chips cant get rid of the heat, they overheat, and in order to protect themselves, they shut off.

so, check the CPU heatsink, the motherboard's and the grafic's card heatsink.
