RAM - - $184.99
GPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150202 - $189.99
HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148140 - $89.99
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119077 - 49.99
OS - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116169 - $89.99
PSU-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182017 -$64.99
DVD-http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827152076 -$28.99

My question being will all these work together and work together well. Also if you could make any suggestions as to things to change. This came to around 1035 if i remember right. Id like to keep it around that price.

Great CPU and Motherboard, they will work nicely together. I have the same mobo and an e6400.

I would recommend these 'upgrades'

psu- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371007

case- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129152

Buy one more 120 tricool fan to slap in that case.

GPU upgrade:

The GT are much better, I think all these up grades are affordable. It is'nt much more and I think you will be very pleased.

My choice for dvd drive:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106049

As far as what you have now, it will work, but if you wanted advice there you go. Also, that motherboard you have is excellent for overclocking, if you want more performance, look into. However, if you plan to overclock get an aftermarket HSF.

Just buy Vista, home premium for builders is as much as xp pro.

thanks for you input......however i wasnt looking to spend much over 1100, and will i really need another 120mm fan if i get that case? or will it just overheat without it? Also im not convinced with vista yet, i have tried it and i dont know, so i think im gonna stick with xp......does home vs. pro make a huge difference?

Also any ideas for sound cards?

Buy a crappy video card for now and then get the 8600 Ultra which is the same price. It should be out in like a month. That way you have a DX10 card that should be better(hopefully.)
