Default Can't reformat XP

I keep trying to boot from CD, but after it says "windows is detecting your hardware configuration" the setup hangs and all I get is a black screen. I reset the bios to its defaults, with no luck. Anyone?

some of your hardware isn't natively supported by your motherboard, you need to load the drivers onto a disk, and manually load the drivers while the windows install is initializing.
