I'm on a fairly new laptop, about 4 months old. I rarely never restart/shutdown my laptop. I use hibernation everytime i'm not using it, i shutdown/restart my laptop about every 4 days.
Last night i was about to hit hibernation but i clicked "Stand By" by mistake then it did its stuff... I powered my laptop back on and it froze(i assume) in a black screen. It stayed in a black screen forever... I tried to restart, and now my laptop freezes on the loading screen. I tried getting into bios and it's possible if i'm lucky. In bios it says that i have no hard drive? I used the laptop's recovery dvd and it said that there were no HDD. Also under the loading screen it said there were no OS found. I haven't done anything to the computer physically to damage the HDD or anything. My laptop is CLEAN, i run virus scans, adware, spybot etc every week and it's always clear, no problem with anything! Any ideas?

This post is a few days ago and any down computer needs to be handled quickly - so hopefully you have this fixed. If not, any BIOS not recognizing the HDD is bad news. Did you reset the BIOS, change hdd to auto or something, save and exit to see if the BIOS would pick up the hdd?

from my experience thats usually down to a hard drive failure; samsung drives are notorious for things like this but isn't limited to them. It could be a mainboard fault.
Also you might want to check that your optical drive is recognised as the hard drive can sometimes prevent the optical drive from being seen. Try another hard drive if possible; if that doesn't show up then its a mainboard fault.
