I would go with the evga I have been good with evga so far and also they feature the step-up program which can be useful for upgrading and from the reviews from newegg it seems liek the cards are having no problems so far so I would go with Evga I will also be upgrading to the 8800gts from evga in a couple of weeks

so how does step up program work on evga.
on their website it says:
users can upgrade one time only to a "greater card"
so what does that mean
if I buy evga 7100LE from newegg for 30$ I can step up and upgrade
to 8800GTS which costs around 600$ or more?
or I can upgrade to next best card like 7100gs.

I don't think they're going to get cheated like that, they're not that dumb. By the way the 8800GTS is more like $400, the GTX is about <$650. I render that as being absolutely useless.
You probably have to wait for 2 yr.'s and then get the next best card (like you said) which I find not really an upgrade.

The upgrade program is something like. You can trade your EVGA card in within 90 days of purchase and get the full value of the card towards a newer, upgraded card. So, you but a 200$ card now, and in 74 days you trade it in towards a 400$ card. You only have to pay the 200$ difference.

Okay that is pretty useless, I would just give it away or sell it to a friend, why not help someone else out when you can.

Get the Foxconn overclocked one. It's about the same price as a stock card.
