Default Dell XP os disk

my mom has dell computer for work, it came with windows Xp operating system disk. and my computer riuns windows 2000 professional and was wondering if i could upgrade to XP i ran all the advisors and i m compatible

If you want to use your mom cd:
1. It's OEM version of OS (won't work on other computer than the one it's activated on),
2. It is illegal ,
3. If you want XP Home you need to do clean install (not an upgrade). You can do the upgrade to XP Pro only from 2k pro.
