Default Flashing BIOS

Can someone explain this term,I have been to my BIOS update supplier and those tekkies couldn't explain it in term a noobie could understand

Flashing BIOS is simply updating it...you shouldn't do this unless you absolutely NEED to, as if you do something wrong, you basically have an expensive paperweight.

I know how to get in the BIOS but scary I'm 67 and get nervous while I'm in there

Well, I'm not sure how you purchased it, but usually you download it from the motherboard/computer manufacturer's website, copy the flash utility to a floppy disk, and restart and start the flash utlity.

you have to boot to DOS first tho
