Default Laptop purchase

I am looking to purchase a new Laptop. i would be glad if people could advise me on which one to go for depending on my requirements and budget.
My max budget is $1000. And i would be using the machine for regular use which includes watching movies and a little bit of gaming too. I normally use Photoshop, Illustrator and powerpoint for my regular work.
I deally i would like to have the following spec:
Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz min.
At least 1GB RAM, preferably 2
Dedicated graphics 128MB to 256MB(not the intel accelerator types)
DVD±RW
at least 80GB HDD
Does anyonw think i could get something of this sort for the budget i have?

Thanks in advance

Just wondering what screen size would you prefer? How much traveling will you be doing with the laptop?

are you goin to be moving ALOT or just every once and a while? if just a lil then a desktop replacement is good. more power more weight. if moving alot then you'll want to go lightweight.

and ya keeping the screen at 15" will keep the price down. compaired to the 17".
