Default What do you think of this case

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133035

Im lookin to build a gaming type computer on a budget and my friends have told me that its quite convenient to have a computer that you can put on top of your desk or carry around. Its a new arrival but what are your guys' thoughts on this case?

That model and style of case isn't that new. That's been seen at http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-vf...ase-black.html for some time now when browsing through different makes and models. While newegg has quite a few styles available the largest collection seen of all different makes and models is seen at http://www.xoxide.com/pccases.html

There are also other portable cases with some seeing three instead of two 5 1/4" drive bays. The ThermalTake model you are looking at has a carrying handle making another difference. But it will limit you in some ways since it is strictly a compact micro atx not mid or full tower.

That actually looks pretty neat. I would like the fans to have the 3pin connection rather than molex so you could use the mobo's fan management... But as for the case itself, it looks nice. Looks pretty well built; I guess you'll tell us for sure

Ironically that model is at the top of the list of small form factor cases with three others by ThermalTake as seen at http://www.xoxide.com/small-form-factor-cases.html For a gaming case you may want to have a good look around at some of the other models as well seen at xoxide.com

I like the Q-packs better, instead of using multiple small fans, it uses a large 120mm real exhaust fan.

Personally, I value the ability to not work in cramped quarters, so I'd rather have a Midtower case than one like that. However, a small case would be nice at some times.

For strictly a "basic" desktop setup with a micro atx board where you can easily move it around for cleaning or simply temporary setup it can work. But if you are planning a gaming build or connecting items like web cams, camcorders, and other devices you are quite limited on your options. It mainly will depend on the application.
