Default Counter Strike Server

Hello,
Im trying to setup a server for counter strike, I sucessfully got it to run but when I play on the server I get choke and loss, its not like your normal lag. Its like I will walk and then get set back five feet. Anyways my friend says he only gets lag until I go in to the server. And I never get lag on any other server except my own... I have cable, 6mbps download, and 512 upload. Is it possible that I have loss on my connection with my provider?? Any ideas if anyone know anything about counter strike source servers. Also the latency on the server is really low.

Thanks,
Let me know if you need any more info

Put these commands into your console:

cl_rate 30000
rate 30000

And i'm not sure about your upload rate, sounds low, but not sure what mine is. What kind of internet connection do you use?

dudder i have an 8meg and i still got lag when i did the same thing you just need a deticated server. Something about DMAs and timings and all kinds of stuff. Maybe if you had a pentium with Hyper Threading. I don't know i have AMD. too.
