Default Limited or no conenctivity on new mobo

Hi
I have a LAN connection whihch works perfect on my old computer

Onm y new machine - i plug the cable into my mothebroard and have installed the drivers but the connection comes up with 'limited or no connectivity' i have no idea why this is

i also tried to run the broadband installer cd that i recidved a few years ago for my old computer - and this failed a 'ping test'

any one know of a soliuion

try repairing the connection, that might fix it.
