Hi, guys. A mate of mine has just had Vista installed and has just bought a belkin router. I spent 2 hours 2nite trying to connect to the net and its just not happening. I have got the same router and have been using it 4 ages on XP with no setup probs at all. If any one has had the same prob or knows anything that can help me it would be much appreciated. The internet green light is on on the router but still says no connection, I have been through everything with no success. All fire walls disabled, norton not installed so nothing to do with software conflicts, If there is anything that you think I mite have missed then please help! Cheers all.

Well, for one thing, did you have to install drivers for xp? if so, it might be that that the drivers don't work with vista yet.

This has been a problem for some people that not all of their XP drivers have transferred over properly, especially ethernet/dial-up modem drivers. See if you can download some updated ones that are specifically designed for Vista like was metioned earlier. The device may be idetified as working properly, yet still mysteriously not working correctly...

As i mentioned I have the same router, sorry I didn't mention I never needed to install drivers for it as you can access router software via LAN through an IP Address. Wireless not enabled as not required, its a straight connection between router (built in modem) and PC via Ethernet connection. So is there a standard (universal) driver that I can download for the Ethernet adapter that will be compatible with vista?

Oh, and the green light is on on the router indicating internet activity, PC shows that it is connected via ethernet cable, but when accessing the router software it says there is no internet connection.

This program may not work since it may not be compatible with vista...but try it, It may be your last hope(Probably not though). click on easylink connect Install it on the computer with the wireless card or which ever one that doesn't have the router on it. If it works, good. If it doesn't. I'm not sure what else to do.
