strange problem

This is very strange. I have never seen this before. My cousin calls me up and while he was typing a report on his computer using Microsoft Word, all of the letters turned to capital letters. Pressing caps lock key did nothing, unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back in did nothing. Holding the shift key while typing would not change it. So he came up and borrowed two different keyboards. Still the same thing.

For some reason it only did that in the project he was working on. If I opened a new document, internet explorer, anything other than what he was working on, it worked fine. He did say that he had that project open all night. Could that have caused all the letters to turn to capital? Has anyone ever heard or seen this before?

That's certainly a "software" not Windows directly or hardware problem being seen there. You should advise your friend to review the information seen on MS Word found at http://www.willamette.edu/wits/resou...e/word-faq.htm

yeah it sounds like he was hold shift for longer than 8 seconds or whatever it is.

Shift>F3 changes the case of text. Maybe that is what he did.
