Default Alright, I sware this is the last time. :P

My friend, (from a week ago) was going to build a pc for 800, he managed to scramble up another 800 (how do you scramble up 800 is a week??)

Anywho, he put this new rig together, and he wants me to get it double checked on the forums for him. Making sure everything will work together and is a good quality choice

If he's spending 1600 on a computer, why not go SATA on the drive?
Oh and uhm.. hmm.

Maybe he could drop the 6700 to a 6600.. and pick up the 8800GTX with the spare money.
Becuase personally, I don't think there's a $200 difference between the 6600 and 6700.
but then again, I don't think the upgrade from GTS to GTX is all that much worth it either.
Ohh what do I know, just ignore me :/
Oh but for reals.
Go with SATA

Maybe a better PSU too.
If he plans to go SLI on that board with 8800s.
(I like to plan ahead, save money down the road from upgrading the PSU later)

Go with the E6600, use the extra cash to get a 74 gb raptor as a primary drive, upgrade that ide hdd to a sata 3.0 as a storage drive. I don't know why you would want ATI crossfire certified ram when you have nothing ATI.
