My friend, (from a week ago) was going to build a pc for 800, he managed to scramble up another 800 (how do you scramble up 800 is a week??)

If he's spending 1600 on a computer, why not go SATA on the drive?
Oh and uhm.. hmm. Maybe he could drop the 6700 to a 6600.. and pick up the 8800GTX with the spare money. Becuase personally, I don't think there's a $200 difference between the 6600 and 6700. but then again, I don't think the upgrade from GTS to GTX is all that much worth it either. Ohh what do I know, just ignore me :/ Oh but for reals. Go with SATA ![]() Maybe a better PSU too. If he plans to go SLI on that board with 8800s. (I like to plan ahead, save money down the road from upgrading the PSU later) |

Go with the E6600, use the extra cash to get a 74 gb raptor as a primary drive, upgrade that ide hdd to a sata 3.0 as a storage drive. I don't know why you would want ATI crossfire certified ram when you have nothing ATI.
