Newbie Question comparing

You can ignore this post. I am sorry for waiting people time, but with research I found the answer to my own question. Again, I'm sorry for waiting time..

I'm ordering a computer, and was wondering about two different graphics cards. The computer is going to run Vista home premium, has 2gb dual channel ram, and has the dual core 2.13 ghz processor (if that matters). The two processors in question are:

1)256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro
2)256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS (a little more expensive than #1)

I'm connecting to the dell 24 in widescreen monitor 1920x1200 max rez.
The computer and monitor is going to be used for a little of everything. PC games, Wow, Everquest 2, and some FPS. I also use it for tv, music, school work, xbox 360 and hd-dvd/blu-ray viewing.

Sorry, if I gave to much information, or not enough in the important areas, just didn't know how much you needed for a good decision. I can afford the video card, but I don't need complete overkill, so if decision one is good enough to run great games maxed or close to maxed and no lag then great.

Currently I run the MSI version of the X1300 Pro PCI-Express version of the #1 choice you have and regret not going with the Radeon X1600 Pro or another ATI or MSI model. The #2 option would be the better move since it is newer and updates will be seen longer and offer more then the 4 pixel pipelines seen on the X1300 Pro. The Radeon X1900 or X1950 along with the 7950 models will see less problems. For Vista the latest high end cards will be the NVidia 8800 and new to come Radeon X2000 R600 series cards.

There is no comparison there, the 7900GS would kill the x1300 in gaming performance.

What kind of system is this? If it's a prebuilt, you might need to check that the PSU is powerful enough, especially for the 7900GS.

7900 by farrrrrrrrr defidently go with 7900 its top of the like 7 series almost and x1300 is low x1 series from ati so what would you choose id by far choose 7900

People were seeing problems with the 7900 series models. So the idea of moving up to the 7950 or X1950 goes well. But your mention of ordering a system implies custom ordered not custom built where from? The model number and other system specifications may tell what supply will be seen in it. In some cases you are still left to wonder until you get inside one like eMachines nightmares.

7900 by far.

I, personally, would get BFG brand of 7900. It has a lifetime warranty

You keep saying that over and over, (care to show proof)!! I have installed alot of 7900gs and gt and had no more problems with them then any other card!! Plus the X1600 is a dog card, ATI passes it as a 12 pipeline and it really ony has 4 with 3 pixel shaders pre pipeline!
