I have a Foxconn P4M800P7MA motherboard with a Pentium 4 3.06 ghz HT CPU, 512 mb of ram, and a Gecube Radeon X1300 AGP 8X video card with 512 mb of ram. I am using Windows 2000 and the graphics card drivers are Catalyst 6.2, the latest they have for 2000.
I used to have a Radeon 9200 and it went into and came out of sleep mode with no problems. I was using the same version of drivers. Now when I put it into sleep mode, it goes to sleep fine, but when I wake it up, it just sits a a black screen and the video card fan makes a loud strange noise. Any idea what I should do? |

This has been going on for a few weeks. I have been shutting it down every night and starting it up each day, and it still wont go into sleep mode. I really like sleep mode because my computer takes forever to start up and shut down, and I like to save energy because with my forest of electronics running all the time I barely have enough money to have a computer.
