yeh, there are are 2 possibilities. 1. it is a restore cd with an image on that it restores to the hard drive (needs to have the exact hardware) 2. It's a windows xp cd branded by them which you CAN install on any machine BUT you won't be able to activate it AND it would be effort to get all th drivers. Unfortunately you'll just have tto buy it. If your laptop is old then I wouldn't recommend it anyway. you need atleast a P3 500 and 256MB RAM for it to be anywhere near useful
