Hi, i have just bought a new icy box external hard drive case which was fitted with a 320 ide hard drive, i plugged it in everything worked fine at first, i then went to restart my pc and thats when problems began, it wouldnt restart properly, the pc shutdown but the lights were still on the pc (power lights etc) and it wouldnt restart, it was just stuck in that state.

So i had to manually switch pc back on for it to boot into windows again, once booted into windows the external hard drive does not show up, the lights are still on but it does not show up in my computer, i have to manually switch off then back on again.

I dont know if its a problem with the external hard drive itself or if its the PSU not having enough juice to power it up? Im using an Antec 430w psu that came with my Antec Fusion media pc case. PC works fine when the hard drive is not hooked up to it though. Any ideas?

By the way this happens all the time when i restart the pc with external hard drive connected. Thanks.
