Default Oblivion Character Creation

Hi guys, I just started Oblivion for the second time.

Ive played about 10 hours and have a good feeling for the game. Now to get serious. I want some suggestions on a good character to create. I dont know whether to go for full melee warrior, a mage or a stealthy thief. Please help me with your suggestions.

Thanks!

There isn't really a 'best' character to go in the game, It all depends on what you want to do.

Personally, I like the Nords and being a good swordsman

I'm sure there a guides out there to make the characters that are powerfully unbalanced, but to enjoy the game the most, I'd just pick whatever you enjoy playing most.

i tell you what! Ive played oblivion for about 30 hours now and theres nothing more fun than stealing from houses in the middle of the night. Im not a real theif or anything its just fun to get free stuff (like a cheat code but without spoiling the game). Be a thief deffinately, makes the game so much more exciting than a hack and slash warrior dude doing the same slashing action every time which makes killing enemies more and more repetitive. Be a member of the dark tribe thing and kill people for money whilst robbing their houses, you cant get more fun than that!!!!!! mwhaha

Your character can learn everything, you only select what he/she is better at in the beginning, you can always 'learn' new things as you go...

morrowind is a class game, deffinately one to play in your lifetime! And dude like everyone else has said, make the character you will find most interesting not the most advanced. The game has many ways to complete it easily so theres no need for a "best character".

Both Oblivion and Morrowind are great games. I have trouble creating character in Morrowind due to the difference in the leveling system. Sometimes some stats wont rise. But with Oblivion there are no issues. I'm usually a thief, although my current thief is a great mage, and warrior. He can conjure anything up. Maybe make the character favor skills you don't use so they are at least buffed, and will level faster the few times you use them. Play around with abilities. Once i tried magic i found there was a lot to offer.

oblivion is like 19 square miles, and even a good runner running 4minute miles would hav trouble covering it all lol, my favorite part of oblivion is how much stuff there is, my morrowind game has 200hrs clocked on it, and i still havent beat it. i wonder how hi everone elses are going to be on obliv.?
